About Us
Most travel tools tell you where everyone else is going. MyTripNext works differently , it starts with what kind of trip you actually want, then finds places that match. Climate, terrain, activities, budget: all filtered together, across 24,000 cities worldwide.
Behind the project
MyTripNext is built and maintained entirely by one person. There's no team, no investors, no company behind it, just a genuine frustration with how travel discovery works, and a lot of time spent building something better.
That means things move slowly sometimes, and not everything is polished. But it also means every decision is made with the product in mind rather than a business model. If something feels off or you have a suggestion, the contact page goes directly to me and will be examined with care.
The problem
Search for "best places to visit in June" and you'll get the same 20 cities you've seen a thousand times. The same listicles, the same sponsored placements, the same assumption that your ideal holiday looks like everyone else's.
The truth is that the best destination for you depends on specifics that no generic list can capture. Do you want to be hot or warm? On the coast or in the mountains? Are you hiking, or looking for museums? Are you travelling on €40 a day or €150?
"The world has 24,000 cities worth visiting. You should be able to describe what you want and get a real answer , not just the ones with the biggest marketing budgets."
MyTripNext was built to give that answer. No sponsored results, no affiliate-driven rankings, no algorithmic popularity bias. Just a filter system that matches your actual preferences against real data.
How it works
The search is built around the things that actually determine whether a trip works for you , not just where's trending this season.
All climate data is filtered to your actual travel window. A destination might be perfect in June and miserable in August , we show you the climate for your specific dates, not an annual average.
Temperature (cold / warm / hot) and precipitation (dry / moderate / wet) are matched against monthly climate records for your date range. No more discovering on arrival that "warm" meant 38°C.
Prefer coastal cities? Mountainous surroundings? A high-altitude city over a plain? City terrain, surrounding topography, nearest body of water, and elevation are all filterable independently.
26 activities across five categories , from hiking and beaches to museums, spas, and theme parks. Results only include cities where your chosen activities actually exist, with real places of interest listed for each.
Budget figures represent real daily spending estimates (food, local transport, activities , excluding flights and accommodation). Filter to cities that match what you're comfortable spending.
What's included
Every city has its own detail page built from the same database, no filler, just the information that actually helps you decide.
A month-by-month grid colour-coded by temperature and rainfall, with your travel window highlighted so you can see at a glance whether your dates are ideal, good, or off-season.
Separate temperature and precipitation charts for all 12 months, with your travel period shaded. Min, max, and average temperatures all shown.
Elevation, city terrain, surrounding topography, distance to coast and nearest body of water , the geographic context that shapes what a place actually feels like to visit.
All activities available in the city, each with specific places of interest. Useful both for planning and for discovering things you didn't know a city had.
Daily spending estimates for budget and comfortable travellers, split by category. A trip cost estimate based on your travel duration is calculated automatically on the plan page.
Destinations scored by similarity across climate, terrain, and activities , useful for discovering alternatives you hadn't considered, or narrowing down between two finalists.
Coverage
Activities are tagged at the city level and linked to real, named places of interest. The categories cover the main reasons people travel.
Data
The database is built from public, open-licensed datasets. Nothing here is invented or AI-generated , it's sourced, structured, and stored in a database that powers every search and destination page.

What we're not
We are not a booking platform. MyTripNext doesn't sell flights, hotels, or tours. Links to booking partners are provided as a convenience , we have no control over their prices, availability, or policies.
We don't require an account. There's nothing to sign up for. Your filter selections are stored temporarily in your browser only and are never sent to a server in a way that identifies you.
We are not sponsored. The site has no sponsored results, and no promoted destinations. Booking partner links may generate referral revenue if you make a purchase, but this has no influence on which cities appear in search results or how they're ranked.
Climate data is historical, not live. The temperature and precipitation figures are based on long-term historical averages. They represent typical conditions for a given month , not a forecast for your specific travel dates.
Set your dates, pick your preferences, and see what fits.
